Free Golf Lessons For Houston Kids…Be A Tiger

The First Tee of Houston   offers free golf lessons for kids aged 7-18 years at 8400 Mykawa Rd, Houston, TX, 77048, 713-264-2100.

My daughter, Miss Tigerette Woods,  learned to hit a golf ball last summer while attending golf classes at the First Tee of Houston.

The First Tee requires registered parents and kids to attend all 6 sessions plus parents must attend an orientation prior to the start of class.

The First Tee teaches kids about respect for yourself, respect for others and respect for your surroundings.

The class we attended was on a Saturday morning and everyone was very hot but the kids did not seem to mind.  I think that when kids are having fun they are able to block out minor inconveniences and focus.

WARNING:  The sessions are most likely full for the summer but you can check with them about fall sessions or even about next year’s summer session.

Free Kids Tennis Lessons…..At Houston Area Parks

The City of Houston, Texas provides

 free tennis

lessons during the 2008 summer months at various city parks.  My kids took lessons five days a week last summer.  They even provide a tennis raquet.   At the end of the summer there is a city-wide tennis tournament at Memorial Park.

Free Kids Summer Fun ….Kleb Woods Nature Preserve, Hiking, Kids Picnic Area, Farm

Kleb Woods Nature Preserve

Nature Center and Heritage Park, Tomball, Texas.  281-357-5324.   It is a park, nature trail, event place, farm visit, forest hike, bird sighting and butterfly station all rolled into one.

My family and I were taking a scenic tour of Mueschke Road today and stumbled upon this nature/park preserve located in NW Harris County near the historic community of Rose Hill on FM 2929.

If you know anything about  NW Houston, you know that the hills start to roll and trees reach for the skies blocking some of that Houston, Texas humidity.   The nature trail was wonderful.  It was just me and my family walking through the peaceful woods.

We were the only people in the park besides the Harris County Precint 3 Police and Parks Patrol.

I will leave you with the pictures for now and give you more review later.

The facility is open from 7 am until dusk daily.
